The novel 2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson put the word "saturnine"--which means "slow and gloomy"--on my radar. One of the characters comes from a moon of Saturn and he is, in stark contrast to the character from Mercury, a saturnine individual.
Many images from that fascinating novel stuck with me and, apparently, so has that lovely word.
