Back at Penn State, I had a close friend who had three televisions arrayed next to each other in his apartment. I spent a lot of time there and in dingy basements playing loud music. Looking back each individual day seemed nearly endless, yet the time somehow raced by.
lyrics
We're sitting in your apartment, watching three TVs
The glass was flowing all around me, if you know what I mean...
And later on we're at the bar and I, see you walking in
You raise your glass and, start to move about just as we begin.
Wherever did all the time go?
All those long long days
And though it makes me sad to know that they are gone
Every time I think about it, you know I have to smile.
And down the stairs to, the dirty basement
I fight my way through the crowd
I find my beer and I, find my horn and I think it's time to get loud.
How those nights would go on forever, I guess I'll never know
The drink did flow and the smoke did rise and, and then we played some more.
I guess we thought it'd never end
Though we all knew it wasn't true...
And thought it makes me sad to know that they are gone
Every time I think about it, you know I have to smile.
And though the times they change I know I won't soon forget
All the times we spend, just wasting time
It was time well spent.
